Solder Melting Point Questions and Answers

Resolved Question: Why does my solder turn into little bubbles or balls and not spread?

Im trying to resolder a loose socket onto a motherboard but every time the solder melts it forms a little bubble or ball or however you want to describe it, and consequently wont flow over the points, instead it just kind of falls away to either side. i thought flux would help but its the same problem. i end up chasing the thing around... any ideas? more
